Whats the best mp3 management software?

Postby BooDaddy » Thu Oct 19, 2006 1:50 am

HEy all,
I have a TON of mp3 and I was wondering what is the best management software. I am looking for something that will update the ID3 tags, embed the album art from the web and just make it easier to manage all of my music. That way I can just upload my entire network drive straight to my site, and just do an update on my kplaylist install.

any sugestions?

I would recommend Tag&Rename, it can do all the things you mentioned... only thing though, it can only retrieve covers from amazon, so I use a separate program for covers called Album Cover Art Downloader

I suggest musicbrainz picard (http://musicbrainz.org/): Great!!
With the track audio fingerprint technology and their open repository you can Tag & Rename your album tracks. And you are helping the world to do the same...

For the album covers, they are included in the track ID3, but you can also use Album Cover Art Downloader (http://kempele.fi/~skyostil/projects/albumart/)

mp3tag is great:

http://www.mp3tag.de/en/

Edit tags based on filename/directory, edit filename based on tag, batch edit, regular expression. It has everything you need.

I also recommend Mp3Tag, it's freeware and it's good. I used Tag & Rename for years but recently started using Mp3Tag, it has all the features you need.

Hello BooDaddy.........
One of an increasing plethora of applications that promise to organise your music collection, MediaMonkey has one major factor in its corner: it's small, too, weighing in at just over 6MB for the initial download.
Features:
Organize music and edit tags in your audio library with a powerful, intuitive interface.
Automatically lookup and tag Album Art and other metadata.
Manage 50,000+ files in your music collection without bogging down.
Manage all genres of audio: Rock, Classical, Audiobooks, Comedy, Podcasts, etc.
........................ And many much more
Thanks for sharing this information.
