- Lack of forum presence, no real community (or help)
- Kplaylist uses far to much cpu, with my 200 BogoMips cpu it uses 50% - 115% while idle. It opens 1-10 apache connections per person(this is with prototype.js installed)
- Bugs Everywhere (Stream shows double of whats being played, streamed album art has a nasty black border on the bottom and right sides)
- Lack of clarity and documentation
It's a nice bit of software, it's a little under developed atm and not suitable to lower end servers. I'll try the alternatives out there and see how they stack up.
well, just feel like i should write sth about your post
[*]Lack of forum presence, no real community (or help) - i agree the "community" leaves sth to be desired, but you find answers to most probs while searching the forum and aba is usually very fast to help, but you need to ask and specify your prob
[*]Kplaylist uses far to much cpu, with my 200 BogoMips cpu it uses 50% - 115% while idle. It opens 1-10 apache connections per person(this is with prototype.js installed) - i don't know how much music files you have on your machine or anything about your machine for that matter, but i run a huge collection (500.000 files +) on an aging linux server with very little probs. don't blame kplaylist for your inablity to configure apache properly!!! it is not perfect, but pretty damn good compared to alternatives...
[*]Bugs Everywhere (Stream shows double of whats being played, streamed album art has a nasty black border on the bottom and right sides) - can't say anything about it - i don't have that prob, but i 'm sure there is a solution.
[*]Lack of clarity and documentation
- i can't agree with it, cause i don't have that prob at all!!!! maybe back to config issues (you would be amazed what wealth of info is in this forum, if you bother to search...)
[*]Lack of clarity and documentation
- i don't get the clarity part (is your screen out of focus/ do you need glasses????

) - just kidding m8. but yes, you have a point on the documentation. but instead of complaining, you could offer some help to aba, if you have any idea about programming etc. - never forget, it's one guy who provides all that free of charge to you!!! not a company with a help desk and all the shit!!!!!! so, i'm sure he has a life also, beside of kplaylist - give some respect to the few ppl doing this for you. there are not too many around!
