Kplaylist not indexing ANY files

Postby DragonBlack » Tue May 05, 2009 6:50 pm

Hello I run Kplylist off an Unslung Linksys NSLU2 (Don't let it scare you :)
I use :
PHP Version 5.2.9
Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.7m DAV/2 PHP/5.2.9
MYSQL 4.1.22
Operating System is basically a Linux 2.4.22-xfs on an armv5b CPU

all mp3 files are in a public folder : /public/01 - MP3/
There are some 10600+ files. Not that many as compared to some posts I have seen.
But for each of them I got the "Could not read this file:" message folowed by the filename.
I verified they are all owned root:root and in chmoded 777 they should only need 666 but hey in for a penny in for a pound.

Any Idea ? :?:

Sounds for me that is a access problem. Does your Linux enforce SELinux? (check /etc/selinux/config). Take
a look in your error log for apache and make sure that user running your webserver can access the complete
directory structure where your music are, along with each file.

no Selinux

This instance of Apache web server is running as root (not the best practice) error log shows no access errors.
Note that I use separate instances : each listening to its port here it's http://horus:8000

OK a change :
I still have /public/ as my root
I renamed and split the inner folders :
01 - MP3 to
01-artistes
02-compilations
04-super
03-ost

Also checked debug mode : so far 265 files imported. Weird.

OK now I ran in the PHP memory PB although I went and upgraded the swap partition and allocated 300Mb to PHP. Looks like the NSLU2 is too short on mem and cpu to run Kplay. I'll see if it builds better on an Synology CS407 and post the results here.
