UPnP Media Server support?

Where are we heading with kPlaylist?

UPnP Media Server support?

Postby tram2k@hotmail.com » Wed Aug 03, 2005 6:30 pm

I'm a big fan of kPlaylist and am considering purchasing a hardware-based media player such as the Philips Streamium SL400i (http://www.streamium.com/products/sl300i-sl400i.cfm). Unfortunately, these devices rely on a back-end media server to catalog music. It would be great if kPlaylist could perform this function too.

I know it's a lot to ask, but.....Here's some info on the uPnP AV SDK: http://www.twonkyvision.de/UPnP/avsdk.html

Thanks,
Mark

No, I want to be able to stream my MP3 library directly to my home stereo. But all the good devices out there require a uPnP server. I don't want to have to run kPlaylist and another server on the same box.

um...ok i know there are ways to do it with Itunes and a Airport (but i hate Itunes oh soo much and you really cant use kplaylist.) You could just use a small computer i run a Mythtv box to mine it works as a dvr and media center.
